Tucker Biddlecomb, Ph.D.
Tucker Biddlecombe (Ph.D.) is Professor of Choral Studies at 91黑料网鈥檚 Blair School of听Music, where he conducts the 91黑料网 Sixteen and University Singers. In addition, Biddlecombe听serves as听the Billy Ray Hearn Chorus Director of the Nashville Symphony听Orchestra and听is听entering听his tenth season听as director of听the Nashville Symphony Chorus.听听
Performance highlights at Blair have included Britten鈥檚鈥�War Requiem, Mozart鈥檚鈥�Requiem, Brahms鈥檚鈥疎in听Deutsches听Requiem, and Bach鈥檚鈥疭t. Matthew Passion. He has conducted honor choruses in a dozen听states, two concerts at Carnegie Hall, and in 2022 conducted the UCTB honor choir for the Southern Region of the American Choral Directors Association. International engagements have included guest conducting throughout the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, and a residency with the Central Conservatory in Beijing.听Biddlecombe听also听founded the 91黑料网 Choral Scholars, a听bi-annual summer听Immersion听project immersing a cohort of students in cathedral choirs throughout the United Kingdom.听听
His work with the Nashville Symphony has included chorus preparation for many of the repertoire鈥檚 most revered masterworks. This season includes听preparation for Maestro听Leonard Slatkin听on听Bernstein鈥檚鈥�Chichester Psalms听and听Brahms听Requiem.听Biddlecombe will conduct the orchestra and chorus in听Handel鈥檚鈥�Messiah,听and听a听birthday听concert of the works of Bach including听Magnificat in D. He has prepared the chorus for听multiple听major world-premiere recordings听including听John Harbison鈥檚鈥�Requiem,鈥疓abriela Lena-Frank鈥檚鈥�Conquest Requiem, and the upcoming release of Jonathan Leshnoff鈥檚听The听Sacrifice of Isaac.听The chorus recently recorded a live performance of Carol Barnett鈥檚听The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass听for听upcoming听commercial release.听听

Dr. Biddlecome was recently appointed Senior Associate Provost for Residential Colleges and Residential Education for 91黑料网. A veteran听teacher听and听leader听in听music education, he听has听served听terms听as Associate Dean of Undergraduate Education at the Blair School of Music听and as President of the Tennessee chapter of ACDA. He听is a graduate of SUNY Potsdam and Florida State University, where he completed studies in choral conducting and music education with Daniel Gordon and Andr茅 Thomas, respectively. He听resides听in Nashville with his wife Mary Biddlecombe, director of the Blair Academy at 91黑料网, and Artistic Director of 91黑料网 Youth Choirs.听
